The sun is heading west and the wind is tight in Shicheng.
Yue Dapeng returned to the house, where Chen Zui was holding a tea bowl and sipping slowly.
"Sir, the horses have told them to stop."
Yue Dapeng closed the door and said in a low voice, "They are going to attack us. It's good for you, you still have time to have tea."
"Sit down and talk."
Chen Zui raised his chin.
"I've visited both the city and the outside." Yue Dapeng sat down opposite him, "There aren't many defenders, but it would be difficult to forcefully charge out with the brothers."
"How many are there?" Chen Zui asked.
"Speak less of three hundred."
Yue Dapeng stretched out his hand and compared, "Seventy versus three hundred, it's not impossible to fight. Fortunately, the brothers even carry crossbows, and the crossbow boxes are still enough."
"Then what are you worried about?"
Chen Zui put down the tea bowl.
Yue Dapeng didn't answer immediately. He wiped his face and his voice became muffled.
"Sir, I only have these few good soldiers under my command, and each one of them is a good scout who sacrificed his life to feed them. You also know this skill of mine, it is common. If you fight with a small number and fight a large number, even if you win by luck, how many of them can come back alive?"
"I...have a headache in my heart."
The guards standing in the corner of the room darkened their faces when they heard this.
Chen Zui looked him over.
"Compassion does not control armies," is the old saying.
He paused and then said, "As a general, if you don't take the lives of your brothers, you won't be able to get someone who is willing to die for you. The few words you just said make you look like a general."
Yue Dapeng made him feel a little embarrassed and scratched the back of his head.
"Sir, you are sitting so calmly, you must have something in mind."
"I don't have any clues."
Chen Zui pushed the tea bowl aside and spread his hands, "I still expected you to take me back. Your Excellency sent you here to protect me. This time, I will listen to you."
"That's what you said."
Yue Dapeng straightened his face and said seriously, "Then you just have to humiliate yourself and get out of the dog hole."
"What?!"
Chen Zui straightened up.
"I have searched all over the city, and there is a hole under the wall in the southeast corner." Yue Dapeng gestured, "You are so thin, you can definitely get through it. Just run up the hillside when you get out, they can't catch up."
"Bah!"
Chen Zui's face darkened and his beard stood up, "Absurd! After all, I am an aide under Qianhu Tent, and he escaped through a dog hole? If word spreads, where is your face, sir? Where is the military might of Daning?!"
"Hi, I was just teasing you."
Yue Dapeng waved his hand, "I took a closer look. That's not a dog hole. It's a ditch for water drainage in this mountain city."
"That won't work either."
Chen Zui shook his head, "How are you going to get out once I leave? Don't you cherish your troops? I'm leaving, and you guys are stuck here and have to fight hard?"
"As soon as you left, didn't all their people go after you? When the city was empty, wouldn't it be easier for the brothers to escape, and so many people wouldn't have to die."
Yue Dapeng laughed twice.
