"You come with me first."
After a moment of silence, Brother Shen stood up, pushed the door open and took him out of the third lady's yard.
The stockade was still filled with the burnt smell after the fire. Several minions were carrying buckets to clean up the wreckage. When they saw Lin Jue coming out, they all stopped what they were doing and looked at each other with different expressions.
Brother Shen ignored those glances and led Lin Jue through the dirt road in the center of the village towards a row of low wooden houses.
"Go in." Brother Shen opened one of the doors and threw the key to Lin Jue.
Lin Jue pushed the door open and went in. The room was very small, with a wooden bed, a low table, and a wooden cabinet with a corner missing. The furnishings could not be more basic.
At least the floor was swept clean, with no cobwebs or the musty smell of rotten straw.
"The woodshed is burned down and cannot be inhabited. The lady asked you to move here." Brother Shen pointed to the room and calmly turned around and left.
It wasn't until he walked away that Lin Jue silently closed the door.
Finally, we no longer have to live in a dilapidated house with drafts from all sides.
Lin Jue threw himself on the wooden bed. The arrow wound on his shoulder was painful. He bared his teeth but did not move.
The tiger's mouth still had red marks from the time he held the knife last night. Lin Sui spread his fingers and closed his eyes. Scout Ule's bulging eyes came up again before he died.
The sudden feeling of the blade cutting into the flesh and the warmth of the hot blood spraying on his face made him unable to calm down for a long time.
This place is no longer the peaceful era he was familiar with.
"Phew!"
After waiting for a long time, Lin Jue clenched her fists and suppressed the physiological tremor.
Changing residence sounds like a good thing.
But Lin Jue knew in her heart that this house was not far from the third lady's yard. It was just a change of rooms, but it was not another form of imprisonment.
The window was unlocked and the door was not closed, but Brother Shen was still not far away, and he could touch it when he went out to urinate in the middle of the night.
"Forget it, let's make peace with it now that we've come."
Before I knew it, it was getting dark.
Lin Jue sighed and closed her eyes in a daze. Just as she was about to fall asleep, the door to the courtyard was banged and someone kicked it open.
The sound of the impact made him sit up in excitement, and he saw several tall and thick-looking people barging into the room arrogantly.
The leader was a bald man with a slender face and an old scar on his temple that stretched to the base of his ear.
Lin Jue recognized this guy, his name seemed to be Lao Guang.
He is somewhat famous in the village. Although he is not the leader, he has seven or eight brothers under him, and he never shows mercy in fights.
What's more important is that his relationship with Brother Scar last night doesn't seem to be simple.
