Suddenly the alarm in the office went off, causing people's scalp to go numb.

The piercing siren sounded throughout the Evernight Bureau building.

Where have all the people gone?Why was the alarm sounding all the time, but the building was as quiet as death? She couldn't feel any human activity.

She walked forward cautiously. There were three doors facing each other on both sides of the long corridor, all of which were now closed.
